The Heart Behind The Work

A nonprofit built from memory and moved by gratitude.

In December 2021, Cpt./Dr. Isaac D. Walkup died by suicide. To carry forward his memory, his family created Cpt./Dr. Isaac's Angels as a way to turn grief into comfort for others.

During difficult holidays, after stressful overnight calls, and in the middle of demanding weeks, the mission provides deputies and support services with warm, home-cooked meals. It is a way of offering relief, remembrance, and a little something the organization calls a food hug.

Cpt./Dr. Isaac's Angels is about more than meals. It is about honoring Isaac's life by caring for the mental health and well-being of those who serve our community every day.
